The Centennial Olympic Games were held in Atlanta in 1996
We attended many events along with family members who visited us during the games

Here we are with tickets in hand going to our first event!

Rons cousin, Paul and his wife susanne stayed with us.  This is us at our first event together.  Sharon and her friend Joe also came along for the track and field events.

The stadium was full!  You can see the old Fulton County stadium in the background.
No explanation needed here.

The woman's high jump was one of many events that day.

After the track and field events we walked to the Georgia World Congress Center for Weightlifting.
A successful lift!
The High Diving events that evening, finished a long day.

We just had to see the Dream Team play.
Just another dunk.

A great free event was the bicycle races.

Here they go!  This was one of the really luxurious events for us since we had breakfast at the Landmark while watching.

Part of the fun was watching the fans cheering their team on!
Wow what a shot!

Ron got to see the Judo events twice.  Once with his sister Claire and again with son David.

The metal award ceremony is always a wonderful finale.

A highlight was the gymnastics finals!
How do they do that?

And they can land on the beam after a flip like this?  ....Usually.

A nice ending to a great event!
