WelcometoItaly!
In 1993 Connie did so well exceeding her sales goals that she was awarded a trip for two to Rome!  While in Europe, we decided to stay beyond the award time on our own and visit her friend who was living in Lyon and of course we then just had to see Paris again.  This page has some of our Italy photos.  We had a great time and we hope these pictures show you some of the wonderful things to see and do in Europe.
This sign should give you an idea of some of the sights we saw in Rome.
First stop, the Spanish steps at the Plaza of Spain.
Wonderful display of Azalea.
Our next stop was the Trevi Fountain.  The fountains in the city are at the end of the Aquaducts that brought water to the city.  They are all gravity fed getting the presure from the trip down the mountains.
If you throw a coin into the fountain, it means you will come back again.

Another must see, is St. Peters Basilica.

The Pieta is on display inside the Basilica.
The main altar is magnificent!

We made a trip to Villa D'Este one day.  This is one of hundreds of fountains, again, gravity fed from the mountains.

Another interesting day trip was to Pompeii

Our last night in Rome was a gala event, togas and all!

Caesar arrives at the party in his horse drawn chariot.

The presentation of the meal was nothing short of spectacular!
From Rome, we went on to Florence, Genoa, then on to France. Click here to see the next set of pictures.
