WelcometoFrance
The second leg of our journey in 1993.  After leaving Italy, we went on to Lyon and then to Paris!

The best way to get from Lyon to Paris is the TGV.  Just a two hour ride

Our first stop was the Musee d'Orsay with the worlds largest collection of Monet.  One of Connies favorites.

This is a view from the Musee d'Orsay overlooking the Seine and with Montmartre and Sacre Coeur on the hill in the background.

A familiar view of Notre Dame.

Sacre Coeur overlooks the city.  The faithful have been praying for world peace 24 hours a day for over 100 years in this basilica!

The basilica is in the Montmartre area with many artisans

One of Rons favorites, the window of a patisserie tempts us all.

Another view of the area

No,  this isn't the Louvre, it is the subway station at the Louvre!

Here is a view of one of the ceilings in the Louvre.

Some of the paintings are rather large.

Napoleon sure knew how to entertain.  This is a view of the dinning room in his apartment.

This is a view of the room where the crown jewels are on display.

The crown jewels really are something to see.

Another view of Napoleons apartment.
Connie could learn to live like this!

Of course no trip to Paris is complete without viewing the Eiffel Tower.

Another place we visited was Mont St-Michel.  Here we are approaching the 10th century monastery built off  the north western coast of France.
A closer view.
